What we need is a judge with some backbone to hold the ambulance chasers accountable. A huge fine and damages in favor of the plaintiff to put these kinds of frivolous lawsuits to rest once and for all. Anybody with half a brain can see what this is about. Publicity and Lawyers fees and nothing else. The lawyers get the money and the taxpayer gets the bill for the abuse of the court system.

If I read this correctly the suit is based upon the assertion by a private party that taco bell does not comply with USDA food standards. I think that as long as the procedures under the whistle-blower law are complied with it sounds like a factual issue and not a legal one.
ReplyDeleteBasically the USDA standards are too low as it is, but if fast-food places are selling "meat" that is less than 30% actual beef, wouldn't you like to know and shouldn't a national franchise with the reaching power of taco-bell be held accountable.
Yeah lawyers sure suck...until YOU need one.
