Say what you want the people (sheep) to believe.

State Democrats waiting for Union leaders to tell them what to do next!

Remember all the talk of the unions being willing to make the concessions? It was, oh I don't know, all over the place from a few weeks ago to yesterday. I am still seeing that theme from the unions and their small army of protesters in Madison. But is it true?

Of course not. It is all rhetoric, exactly the same as Walker's rhetoric about cooperation. But rhetoric none-the-less.

Don't believe me...read this.

Here in Evansville the school district's board did the same thing. Are we going to lose young teachers because the seniority will not make concessions? And these concessions are needed people, have you seen the budget proposal? Or at least the budget summary? You haven't, oh well you can read that here...

And you said your old uncle never gave you anything. Shame, shame.

  1. The Ooooooooold, "look at this hand, while I slap you in the face with the other" trick, huh, never saw that coming. So here we are, to beleive or not to beleive. I want to think that the teachers want to do the right thing, then you see the rushed contracts at our local levels. What's next, try to convince me that 4K will make us money.

  2. I am curious which one of you used to teach? Did you get fired? Because I have never witnessed a former teacher be so anti eduction, anti teacher as the one of you who claims to be a former teacher. Just makes me think you were fired.

Even former educators tend to stick together. But not you.

  4. So if you believe in a fiscally responsible government you are anti-teacher? This is about unions and the fact they have held the taxpayers hostage for years.

  5. Anonymous, I’m curious how you formed your opinion that I am anti-teacher or anti-education. I have never said I do not like teachers, nor have I ever insinuated education was not important. I am very proud to say I have never been fired from a job in my entire life. I left teaching to go full time military, (a higher calling, of service to country, I’m sure you can understand). In fact I took leave so I could help by substituting teaching for a friend when his kids where sick. Just because I am able to see the bigger picture of our current and future financial situation for our community, state, and nation does not make me anti anything. What I am is a realist. There was a time in my life where I was much more financially stable, but times are different, I do not have as much money available for me to spend. I have less so I spend less.
I have some news for you; our community, state and nation are at the same point as I am now, HOWEVER over the last decade we have spent MUCH more than we have taken in at the state and federal level. Evansville has done a fine job of managing our debt, it is at a manageable level, and our current taxes are able to cover the payments without rising. I cannot say the same for our state and country. Times are tough, we don’t have as much money to spend, and everyone needs to cut back. If you make the argument that the current teacher union leadership wants to participate in the cutting back, I do not believe it. Actions speak louder than words; rushing to secure contracts even when they KNOW it will mean layoffs and canceling of courses shows their actual intent.
One last thing, what would you know about teaching? Are you or were a teacher?

  6. @Anon- so instead of commenting on the facts you are resorting to name-calling (and who are you even trying to ferret out?). Comment on the mythical concessions please. I would love to hear what YOU have to say. Do you know why? Because you have no come-back or comment that doesn't make the union's behavior (specifically in the Janesville school district) look like poop!

Oh and have you seen Mayor Shitsandwich's (spelled wrong I know, the guy from Madison)comments about rushing through union contracts before seeing the budget. Regret, he screwed up and Madison can't afford to pay them. Didn't see that one coming....dum-da-da-da-dum-du-dum-dum-dum!
